Golden Gate University Alumnus Wins Advancement of Justice Award
(firmenpresse) - SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/16/15 -- The National Judicial College (NJC) recently honored (GGU) alumna Lydia Beebe (MBA 80) with its prestigious Advancement of Justice Award for her decades of service to improving justice in the judiciary.
Beebe''s dedication to the advancement of justice includes service on the California Fair Employment and Housing Commission, which earned her a Civil Rights Hero award from the State of California, and on the San Francisco Bar Association''s No Glass Ceiling in the Legal Profession Task Force. She has also been named a Fellow of the American Bar Association, and received its Legal Momentum Award as a Woman of Achievement.
Beebe joined the Chevron Corporation in 1977, where she has held the position of Corporate Secretary since 1995 and currently serves as Chief Governance Officer. She credits GGU for giving her the practice-based education she needed to advance as a working professional.
"Earning an MBA in taxation from GGU in my early years at Chevron provided a key stepping stone to a job I wanted and a led to a very satisfying career," said Beebe. "Continuing education is critical to career growth and advancement, and I still focus on continuing my education today."
