SuperSonic Imagine''s Aixplorer ultrasound system was demonstrated in heavily attended sessions. Clinicians from around the world participated in hands-on workshops highlighting the wide range of Aixplorer''s clinical applications including vascular, pediatric, musculoskeletal and general imaging as well as biopsy guidance. Aixplorer surpasses the limits of traditional ultrasound with its unique UltraFast software-based platform. The speed of UltraFast enables the Company''s proprietary ShearWave Elastography technology to assess and quantify tissue stiffness in real time. Tissue stiffness is used by physicians to help identify potentially malignant or other diseased tissue.
In addition to ShearWave Elastography, the software technology platform also enables Aixplorer''s UltraFast Doppler. Conventional Doppler ultrasound requires two separate exams for imaging and measurement. UltraFast combines Color Flow Imaging and Pulsed Wave Doppler into one simple exam, providing physicians exam results simultaneously and helping to increase patient throughput.
