Americans for Policy Reform (AFPR) Holds First 2016 Fundraiser for the Marijuana Control, Legalization and Revenue Act (MCLR) Project
(firmenpresse) - LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/10/15 -- Tomorrow, Saturday, April 11th, at an undisclosed location in Los Angeles, Americans for Policy Reform (AFPR) will hold its first round of fundraisers to raise money for the 2016 legalization efforts. This will be a private fundraiser and party hosted by the Spliffin Group of Los Angeles for industry leaders and current supporters. Anyone wishing to attend should email John Lee at for details.
The fundraiser is scheduled to begin at 3pm and go late into the night. The event will include legalization language discussions with supporting attorneys and the MCLR team, as well as a special birthday celebration for AFPR Director, John Lee.
"I want to say ''thank you'' to all the people who have put so much hard work into the MCLR project," said John Lee. "MCLR would not have come this far without the help of people like Shona Gochenaur of Axis of Love SF, Degé Coutee of the Patient Advocacy Network and many others."
MCLR was developed in 2014 as the first "open-source" method for advocates and experts everywhere to contribute directly to the language of California''s marijuana legalization law. To date the MCLR project has been the most inclusive approach there has ever been for marijuana legalization in California.

MCLR''s inclusive approach has helped create regulations for everything from compassionate use providers to cannabis distributors, artisan & commercial cultivators, and edible, topical & concentrated processors.
"I support the protections for medical cannabis patients MCLR creates," said Degé Coutee of the Patient Advocacy Network. "When MCLR passes, many of the issues I deal with on a daily basis will be solved."
The MCLR team felt it was very important to protect medical cannabis patients. The language both protects and enhances the current medical marijuana law, Prop 215. In section § 27200 "Medical Cannabis Protections," it reduces the cost for state ID cards, allows for out of state patients to use medical marijuana in California, and ensures medical marijuana patients will have safe access to the medicine they need.
