Videotron Announces Creation of MAtv Citizen Advisory Committee
(firmenpresse) - MONTREAL, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired) -- 04/01/15 -- In response to a Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) decision issued in February 2015, Videotron announced today that it created the MAtv Citizen Advisory Committee on March 15, 2015, as directed by the CRTC.
Membership reflects Greater Montreal realities
Videotron has formed a committee in the image of the Greater Montreal area. The committee''s members work at or are involved in organizations that play an important role in the life of the city and address the following areas of concern:
Nine citizens for television that brings people together
At the end of our recruitment effort, nine citizens who are engaged with the community and reflect Montreal''s vigour and dynamism agreed to sit on the committee. Their roles in the community and professional backgrounds will help MAtv make sure that its programming is of interest to and representative of all segments of Montreal society. The purpose is to give voice to the city''s cultural, economic and social life and to reflect its multicultural character.

Videotron will renew its distribution licences for the Greater Montreal area in the coming months. In its renewal applications, it will describe the concrete action it plans to take in order to restore MAtv''s compliance.
