In March, thanks in no small part to sizzling sales of their sportily-named hatchback; Volkswagen set a new all-time record, carding a sales figure of 6,950. This translates to a whopping 73% increase over the same month last year (4,026). Year-to-date, a total of 15,795 new Volkswagen cars and SUVs have been sold, a full 38% more than the 11,442 sold during the same time period in 2014.
The Golf and sporty have now been joined by the all-new , giving Canadians another member of the Golf family to choose from.
"The Sportwagon delivers the carrying capacity of a compact SUV without sacrificing fuel efficiency, or a fun-to-drive character," stated Maria Stenstrom, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group Canada. "It offers Canadians a real alternative to larger, bulkier vehicles."
Not to be forgotten, the 3,012 sedans sold made it not only the best-selling Volkswagen model, but also one of the best selling cars in Canada.
