Kuraray Pasadena Partners With Leading Supplier of Intelligent Industrial Application Systems to Improve Safety and Security With Strategic Wireless Applications

EVAL facility in Pasadena, Texas. Apprion''s team of wireless and industrial experts conducted the on-site survey and plan, which included comprehensive wireless spectrum analysis, various grid simulation output with signal power levels and a technical evaluation of the site''s existing infrastructure and technology. Using the survey results, Apprion''s team defined a clear strategy and plan for Kuraray''s application infrastructure implementation and future expansion of the EVAL facility''s wireless network and industrial applications.
The management team at the Kuraray EVAL site strives for operational excellence by continually improving their safety and security processes with innovative technology solutions. The team started the safety and security project with a thorough site analysis and a well-developed plan to implement the most accurate mustering for personnel safety and pervasive, reliable video for security. Apprion worked with the Kuraray EVAL team and identified the best approach to extend their existing mustering and video. With the Apprion Site Plan process, Apprion mapped out the new wireless infrastructure, the ION System, and determined how to successfully integrate their existing mustering and video systems with the ION Mustering Application and ION Wireless Video Application.

With the ION Site Plan assessment complete, Kuraray EVAL is now deploying a site-wide wireless infrastructure to support the first ION Applications: ION Location including ION Mustering, man-down functionality and personnel accountability and ION Video. This site-wide infrastructure will include Apprion IONizers -- industrial field appliances, the backbone of the network integrating wireless and wired sensor network gateways to support all industrial applications within the plant. With the open, vendor agnostic design of the ION System, Kuraray Pasadena will be able to utilize their existing mustering hardware and wired video cameras with Apprion''s ION Mustering Application and ION Wireless Video Cameras in a single integrated system. In addition, Kuraray will be able to scale their ION Application Infrastructure in the future by adding other ION Applications such as ION Condition Monitoring and ION Communications in the same integrated system at a fraction of the cost.
