(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 03/18/15 -- On Friday March 20th, more than 300 members of BC''s business community will unite at the first ever BC Tech Forum: Leapfrogging Innovation to Business Revolution presented by the BC Innovation Council (BCIC) and the Vancouver Board of Trade. This highly anticipated event will feature welcoming remarks from Minister of Technology, Innovation and Citizens'' Services Amrik Virk, twenty leaders across two interactive sessions and Canadian icon, Commander Chris Hadfield as its keynote speaker.

"The Tech Forum will bring together some of BC''s brightest entrepreneurial minds to engage in a dialogue around the important role of innovation in building globally competitive titans," said Greg Caws, CEO of BCIC. "In these times of rapid technological change and progress, companies need to innovate or risk falling behind. At the end of the day, we''ll know we''ve succeeded if the crowd walks away in awe, inspired and ready to embrace innovation as a strategic driver of their business."

Entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, industry leaders and c-level executives in BC''s business community will gain a stronger understanding of what fuels the momentum of today''s tech sector so they too can adopt these strategies within their own companies. If we can apply the same principles of technological advancement and innovative thinking across more sectors of business, the opportunities are limitless.

"Today is about bringing all companies into the technology fold and showing business leaders across sectors how innovation will take them to the next level," said Minister Virk. "The interest in this event from non-tech companies shows just how eager our business community is to be a part of B.C.''s tech success story."

How can we harness the power of technology and apply it to the next big thing in order to become global leaders in today''s innovation economy? What are you doing that is disrupting the status quo in your industry? How can non-tech organizations benefit from embracing and prioritizing innovation? These questions and more will be deliberated at the BC Tech Forum through the following sessions:

The BC Tech Forum: Leapfrogging Innovation to Business Revolution takes place Friday, March 20th at the Westin Bayshore Hotel. Learn more at boardoftrade.com.
