The Courtyard and Residence Inn Sandestin at Grand Boulevard Launch Partnership With Food for Thought

(firmenpresse) - DESTIN, FL -- (Marketwired) -- 03/17/15 -- Guests arriving at the Courtyard Sandestin at Grand Boulevard or Residence Inn Sandestin at Grand Boulevard may look forward to savoring the area''s sun, surf and sand, but there''s more to whet the appetite than local attractions. Thanks to a new, long-term partnership with the nonprofit organization, Food For Thought, these two are making childhood hunger a problem everyone can take a bite out of.

Based in Florida, Food For Thought provides healthy food to 770 children every week who depend upon free or reduced-cost school meals. Of course, one organization can''t do it all alone, which is why these two premier have joined forces to help. And hotel guests can pitch in, too, while being handsomely rewarded for doing so.

For starters, the hotels are offering a 50% discount on A/V costs to groups that donate to Food For Thought. Or a meeting can opt to donate $1,000 or more to the nonprofit and receive a complimentary meeting space at the Courtyard Sandestin, which offers 2,000 square feet of event space.

The hotels have committed to providing regular sources of income as well. Every six months will be a Food For Thought night with 10% of all room revenue from one of the two properties going directly to the organization. The Courtyard''s Bistro, meanwhile, has designated the first Monday of each month as Food For Thought Monday when 10% of the restaurant''s total sales will be donated. With options like sandwiches, flatbreads, burgers, Starbucks specialty drinks and craft beers all on offer, visitors will relish the experience of giving back while indulging in one of Baytowne Wharf''s freshest restaurants.

Guests can pick up a souvenir while helping a good cause when they purchase a small stuffed turtle (dubbed "Squirt") at either hotel. All profits from the stuffed turtles will go to the charity. With opportunities available at every turn to help hungry children, these two Destin hotels and Food For Thought are giving visitors something meaningful to chew on.

Whether in town on business or vacation, the Courtyard Sandestin at Grand Boulevard promises a stay that is as fun as it is comfortable. The property''s recent renovation translates to vibrant spaces, from the warm, contemporary lobby outfitted with complimentary Wi-Fi and private media booths, to the four updated meeting rooms. The 174 guest rooms have also been redesigned to include plush bedding and LCD televisions. Guests can stay active and energized, thanks to The Bistro''s healthy breakfast and dinner menus, as well as the fitness center and outdoor pool. And with a location near South Walton''s 16 beaches, numerous trails, state parks and the Santa Rosa Golf and Beach Club, the hotel makes it easy and exciting to explore some of the area''s best attractions.

Offering renovated accommodations perfect for extended and short stays, the Residence Inn Sandestin at Grand Boulevard welcomes business and leisure travelers with ease. The 120 suites boast upscale finishes, spacious bathrooms and full kitchens. Daily breakfast buffets are complimentary, as is the high-speed Internet access throughout the property. A 24-hour fitness center, library and video-game room complement the outdoor sport court, swimming pool and barbecue/picnic area for endless entertainment options. Plus championship golf courses and pristine beaches entice visitors to make the most of the Florida sunshine. And guests can stay entertained even after the sun sets, thanks to the hotel''s twice-weekly social hours that let visitors socialize over hosted drinks and bites.
