Minister Shea Supports Clearwater Seafoods Representatives at the Seafood Expo North America 2015

The Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, currently leads the Canadian delegation at the Seafood Expo North America 2015. She is meeting with buyers, suppliers and exhibitors from across North America and overseas to demonstrate the Government of Canada''s vast efforts to build on existing markets and to introduce new markets for the country''s seafood products.
While touring the exhibit, Minister Shea visited the booth of Nova Scotia''s Clearwater Seafoods and was delighted to learn, first hand, how such seafood businesses benefit from favourable conditions in Canada to compete internationally. Clearwater Seafoods recently launched four new scallop and shrimp products. One of Clearwater Seafoods'' new product, Scallop Selects, is made by forming the finest, natural and wild-caught Patagonian scallops into larger, uniform medallions, then individually quick-freezing them for freshness.
