EDRM Publishes Processing Standards Guide
Newest EDRM Resource Offers Guidelines for Processing Data as Part of the E-Discovery Life Cycle
(firmenpresse) - SAINT PAUL, MN -- (Marketwired) -- 03/10/15 -- , the leading standards organization for the e-discovery market, announces the release of a new EDRM Data Processing Standards Guide. The draft, published on the EDRM website, is until March 17, after which time input will be reviewed and considered for incorporation before the new guide is finalized.
At some point in nearly every e-discovery life cycle, it is necessary to "process" data from an electronic storage device into a database so the data may be used in subsequent e-discovery steps. This guide -- meant to be software agnostic -- is designed to help the professional ask the right questions and be knowledgeable about the tools available.
The EDRM Processing Standards Guide, written by experienced practitioners, establishes a set of basic standards for processing various types of data for e-discovery. The team of EDRM members responsible for creating the new includes:

EDRM creates practical resources to improve e-discovery and information governance. Launched in May 2005, EDRM was established to address the lack of standards and guidelines in the e-discovery market. In January 2006, EDRM published the Electronic Discovery Reference Model, followed by additional resources such as IGRM, CARRM and the Talent Task Matrix. Since its launch, EDRM has comprised 314 organizations, including 185 service and software providers, 71 law firms, 44 corporations, 7 governmental entities, 3 industry groups and 4 educational institutions involved with e-discovery and information governance.
