Statement by Minister Glover on the DiverCine Film Festival
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 03/06/15 -- Once again this year, film lovers in the National Capital Region will enjoy discovering the rich cultural diversity of La Francophonie during the DiverCine film festival.
This event, taking place from March 7 to 15 at the ByTowne Cinema in Ottawa, presents films from Francophone countries around the world.
Launched in 2003, the annual festival showcases the talent of Canadian and international film creators.
DiverCine has special significance this year, as 2015 marks the . Canada-the first nation to ratify the Convention-played a key role in its adoption and also ensures that the Convention''s goals are furthered through initiatives such as DiverCine.
Our Government is an active member of the international Francophonie, and we are proud to partner once again with the Embassy of France in Canada to present the 13th DiverCine film festival.
