(firmenpresse) - BOSTON, MA -- (Marketwired) -- 03/04/15 -- SmartSports'' race to have its first 40 SmartKage® units, of a scheduled national rollout of 160, is on pace as the Company today announced that 13 systems are currently up and running. Talking in baseball parlance, Company co-founder and Chief Operating Officer Larry Scannell said that 15 more units are on deck and another 12 are in the hole.
"We now have units from coast-to-coast and we are rapidly filling in the rest of the country," said Scannell, a former professional baseball player who is heading up the national rollout. "Despite incredible weather conditions we have been able to maintain our hectic installation schedule and anticipate even faster response as the weather improves which will coincide with the beginning of both professional and amateur baseball leagues."

The aforementioned are the first of 40 units scheduled for completion by mid-2015. When complete, a total of 160 SmartKage units will be available to virtually everyone in the contiguous United States. In what it calls the equivalent of a "Physical SAT™" SmartKage is the first quantitative technology system and network that measures specific athletic performance for baseball and softball players.
Each one-hour SmartKage session yields up to 75 performance metrics for baseball and softball players. The patented proprietary technologies are completely invisible to the user; there are no wires, markers or sensors on the athlete. Performance data is captured in real time and used for player development, identification, college recruiting and professional scouting.
