Harper Government Strengthens Canada''s Position as a Leading Livestock and Food Exporter
(firmenpresse) - SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN -- (Marketwired) -- 03/03/15 -- Western Economic Diversification Canada
Prairie Diagnostic Services Inc. (PDS) will be better able to meet the needs of its clients in the veterinary, livestock and agri-food sectors thanks to an investment from the Harper Government announced today by Brad Trost, Member of Parliament for Saskatoon-Humboldt, on behalf of the Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification.
The funding will support the purchase of new equipment to expand and modernize PDS'' diagnostic testing capacity. With the Harper Government''s support, clients will receive better access to the expertise they need to help ensure the safety of Canada''s domestic and export food supply. The investment builds on Saskatchewan''s strength as an exporter and will help to expand market opportunities and create jobs.
The new equipment will result in increased efficiencies for the laboratory, as well as improved turnaround time on test results to veterinarians, grain and livestock producers, food processors, and public agencies across Western Canada. It will also provide PDS with the opportunity to increase the number of clients its serves annually.
