Media Advisory: Military Police Complaints Commission to Release Final Report in Fynes Public Interest Hearing
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 03/03/15 -- The Military Police Complaints Commission will release its Final Report in the Fynes Public Interest Hearing at a news conference at the National Press Theatre on Tuesday March 10, 2015.
Cpl Stuart Langridge committed suicide at Canadian Forces Base Edmonton on March 15, 2008. He had served in Bosnia and Afghanistan. His parents, Shaun and Sheila Fynes, filed a formal complaint with the Military Police Complaints Commission about investigations into matters related to his death conducted by the Canadian Forces National Investigations Service (CFNIS).
The Commission will hold a lock-up for accredited journalists prior to the news conference, between 10 am and noon on March 10. Journalists who wish to attend must register ahead of time and sign an undertaking to respect an embargo on disclosing or publishing the contents of the report prior its release at the news conference. Journalists will be required to present their credentials to gain admittance to the lock-up. No cameras.
