Culture at the Heart of the Baie Sainte-Marie Area

Government of Canada supports the cultural activities of three Acadian organizations

(firmenpresse) - CHURCH POINT, NOVA SCOTIA -- (Marketwired) -- 02/27/15 -- Department of Canadian Heritage

The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced that the Government of Canada will provide a total of $61,860 in funding to three Francophone groups that offer a variety of cultural activities to residents of the Baie Sainte-Marie area of Nova Scotia.

This contribution, provided through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, will be used to support projects that showcase music, dance, storytelling and theatre.

The organizations receiving funding are the Festival acadien de Clare ($31,360 for programming for the 60th edition of the Festival), the Association le Moulin de la Baie Sainte Marie ($16,000 over two years to support its series of shows) and the Maison la bouche rouverte associee ($14,500 for the Festival de la parole de la Baie Sainte-Marie, Parlons de ce qui conte).
