Scottsdale Resident Claims One of Two $1 Million Second Place Powerball(R) Prizes
(firmenpresse) - PHOENIX, AZ -- (Marketwired) -- 02/13/15 -- The Arizona Lottery announces that a Scottsdale resident has claimed one of the two $1 million Powerball second prize winning tickets sold in Arizona from the drawing on Wednesday, Feb 11. This is the third second place winning ticket sold in Arizona in the past month.
The lucky winner purchased the winning ticket at Food N Things located at 4995 N. Granite Reef Rd. in Scottsdale. The winner used a set of numbers that he had only played once, five years ago, and mentioned putting the winnings into a family trust.
"We are excited the winner claimed his prize so quickly," said Karen Bach, director of budget, products, and communications for the Arizona Lottery. "We''re looking forward to seeing the other $1 million winner soon."
Powerball offers many appealing features to players. The starting jackpot is $40 million, and the second prize for matching all five numbers, without the Powerball, is $1 million.
The next Powerball drawing is on Saturday, Feb 14, for an estimated $40 million jackpot. Tickets can be purchased at any Arizona Lottery retailer.
Players must be 21 years or older to purchase or redeem tickets. Winners have 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize at an Arizona Lottery office or by mail. Overall odds vary by game.
