Government of Canada provides funding for the Centre communautaire francophone de Truro

(firmenpresse) - TRURO, NOVA SCOTIA -- (Marketwired) -- 02/07/15 -- Department of Canadian Heritage

Scott Armstrong, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Employment and Social Development and Member of Parliament (Cumberland-Colchester-Musquodoboit Valley), today announced additional funding of $10,000 for the Centre communautaire francophone de Truro (CCFT). He made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

This added funding will allow the CCFT to provide a wider range of cultural activities for Truro''s Francophones. Activities will include a day of cultural workshops in February 2015, additional film screenings for families, and more cultural outings for young people. The CCFT will also purchase books and materials for children attending its school-age care program. All of these activities will greatly increase the opportunities for Francophones, especially youth, to live and create in French, thus enhancing the development of Truro''s Francophone community.

This contribution is being provided in addition to the $50,000 in funding already announced for 2014-2015 to support the organization''s programs.
