Expanding Rail Service Commitment
(firmenpresse) - OGDEN, UT and VALE, OR and DEMING, NM and CARLSBAD, NM -- (Marketwired) -- 02/05/15 -- The Western Group of Ogden, Utah, a railroad industry consortium, welcomes Dr. Art Miller as System Director, responsible for safety training as well as standards and regulatory compliance. For almost 30 years, Miller has blended his knowledge of railroad operations with safety management. Since 2009, Miller has served as Director of Safety & Operations Standards for Iowa Pacific Holdings.

The Western Group is a collection of short line railroads serving businesses throughout the western and mid-western United States. Affiliates comprising the Western Group include Western Railroad Builders, Inc.; Wyoming Colorado Railroad, Inc. (Oregon Eastern Branch); Clarkdale Arizona Central Railroad, LC; Verde Canyon Railroad, LC; Southwestern Railroad, Inc. and Cimarron Valley Railroad, LC.
At Southwest Railroad, Inc., comprised of two shortline railroads located in New Mexico, Marc Syring has been appointed General Manager. Syring was most recently at the helm of TXNW Railroad of North Texas. During his tenure, TXNW was awarded BNSF''s Short Line of the Year award.
Brian Keller, formerly Operations Manager for Oregon Eastern Railroad, has been relocated to Deming, New Mexico to take on the role of Operations Manager for the larger Whitewater Division of Southwestern Railroad. Casey Hansen, an Oregon Eastern Railroad Engineer for over 10 years, has been promoted to replace Keller at Oregon Eastern Railroad.
"The combined contributions and assistance of these individuals, along with the current workforce at each of these railroads, will be invaluable as we continue to execute on our commitment to provide world class transportation services," Carswell added.
The Western Group consortium continues to expand by developing each segment of its present business, improving sales and profitability of each company, and investing in fresh business opportunities and strategic acquisitions.
