CUPE 416 placed under administration of CUPE National
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 02/02/15 -- CUPE 416, the Toronto Civic Employees Union, has been placed under the administration of CUPE National.
Gus Oliveria, a CUPE national staff representative, has been assigned the role of Administrator, and will oversee the day-to-day operations of the local and assume the duties of local officers until further notice.
Reporting to CUPE''s National President and National Executive Board, the Administrator will help resolve on-going issues with the operation of the local, and ensure they are addressed while maintaining full service and representation to the members of CUPE 416. Once this process is complete, a new executive will be elected and daily operations will be turned back over to CUPE 416.
Under CUPE''s Constitution, the CUPE National President can place a local temporarily under administration when it serves the interests of the members of that the local.
CUPE 416 members deliver quality public services to the people of Toronto. CUPE will work with the members of the local to ensure efficient and effective representation. We believe that this will benefit both the members of CUPE 416 and the people they serve - the people of Toronto.
