MSC Technologies presents a large range of TFT displays with embedded DisplayPort
(PresseBox) - 02.2015 - MSC Technologies, a business group of Avnet Electronics Marketing EMEA, a business region of Avnet Inc. (NYSE: AVT), has expanded its product portfolio with high-resolution TFT industrial displays, which provide an embedded DisplayPort (eDP?) interface. eDP is based on the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) DisplayPort Standard and today is already being used in large quantities as a standard in the mass market, for example in notebooks.
The internal embedded DisplayPort interface, as bi-directional high-speed data bus, connects the system host with the display. Transfer of graphics data with a high speed of 5.4 Gbit/s including the integrated control signals and the multiple supply lines are combined in a single standardized cable. Additional data, for example signals from a touch system, can be transferred to the system processor via the Auxiliary (AUX) channel.
An important feature is the Panel Self-Refresh (PSR) technology, which is provided starting from version 1.3 of the eDP Standard (eDP v1.3). The control module is switched into a sleep mode with low power consumption, while the display panel continues to display the last image. This image is stored in an own local frame buffer. The PSR significantly reduces power consumption of the system, and optimizes battery size and life.
With control via eDP interface, because the signal hub is smaller, than for example with LVDS, the electromagnetic interference (EMI) is lower. This results in a substantially improved electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) behavior.
MSC Technologies'' wide range of professional displays with eDP includes the models LQ108M1JW01 (27.43 cm, 10.8-inch) and LQ133M1JW02 (33.78 cm, 13.3-inch) from Sharp in Full HD resolution. Also available from MSC Technologies are AUO''s B140HAN01.1 (35.56 cm, 14.0-inch) and G156HTN01.0 (39.62 cm, 15.6-inch) industrial displays with 1920 x 1080 pixels and the M270QAN01.0 (68.58 cm, 27-inch) and M320QAN01.0 (81.28cm, 32-inch) large format displays with a higher resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. Furthermore, two Full HD resolution displays, NL192108AC13-YYD (29.46 cm, 11.6-inch) and NL192108AC18-YYD (39.62 cm, 15.6-inch), from NLT will also be offered in the future.
