Governor General to Attend the Funeral of Joseph L. Rotman
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 01/30/15 -- Their Excellencies the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, and Mrs. Sharon Johnston will attend the funeral of the late Joseph L. Rotman, O.C., to be held at the Holy Blossom Temple in Toronto, located at 1950 Bathurst Street, on Friday, January 30, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. His Excellency will deliver remarks on this occasion.
"This great Canadian, who was invested as an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1995, demonstrated extraordinary leadership and vision throughout his life and career. He helped enhance Canada''s educational, cultural, economic, health care and research communities. When I look around at the strength of Canada today, I see Joe''s influence in many ways. A true philanthropist, he gave generously of his time, his talent and his treasure," said the Governor General.
Joseph L. Rotman, as chair of the Canada Council for the Arts, had also been an active member of the Advisory Council for the Order of Canada since 2008.
