New Jersey Residents Are Invited to the 1st Energy Resiliency Next Generation Forum on Tuesday, January 27 at Mercer Oaks in Princeton Junction From 6-8 pm
(firmenpresse) - PRINCETON, NJ -- (Marketwired) -- 01/23/15 --
A panel of Renewable Energy experts from NJ will discuss the use of solar with battery storage -- to enable communities like Princeton, West Windsor and others to benefit from the long-term savings that can be realized through the use of renewable energy, and to protect vulnerable communities from the damaging effects of power outages in severe weather events. Panelists include PSEG, Princeton Power Systems, Princeton University and the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.
The 1st Energy Resiliency Next Generation Forum will include a thought leadership discussion on how facilities that depend on uninterrupted power, from hospitals to financial institutions, typically use diesel backup generators that sit idle until called upon in emergencies. Most of these generators failed during Hurricane Sandy, costing NJ residents millions of dollars in damages. This panel will be run by local NJ residents and Renewable Energy experts to explore alternative energy options.

The definition of what a resilient community is.
Extreme weather events and resulting power outages deprive a community of its most basic need -- the electricity that powers our towns, and makes social interdependence possible.
Increasing PV distributed generation provides an economic case for the fixed, long-term price advantage of solar over fossil fuel-based generation with its volatile fuel prices.
New threats brought on by climate change are adding to the pervasive threats to community well-being, and are especially deleterious to the most vulnerable among us -- the elderly, and the disabled.
