Communications solution for Altera FPGA with new functionalities
Haar, 2015/01/22 - At the embedded world trade show 2015 in Nuremberg, Softing presents the latest version of its solution for integrating Industrial Ethernet and PROFIBUS into field devices.
(firmenpresse) - The Softing Protocol IP V1.21 now supports Altera’s latest Cyclone V SoC family. Another new key feature is the optimization of the hardware-based data throughput, allowing fast cycle times down to 50 µs. Besides Industrial Ethernet, Softing’s Protocol IP now also permits the flexible integration of PROFIBUS functionality into field devices. It provides an easy way to implementing devices that are based on Altera''s Cyclone FPGA family and that need to support Industrial Ethernet (EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, Ethernet POWERLINK, Modbus/TCP, PROFINET) and PROFIBUS.
Users of Softing’s FPGA solutions can be sure, that they are always up-to-date with Altera’s latest toolkit versions and evaluation kits. This is guaranteed through the close and long standing cooperation between the two companies. The easy and effortless integration of the respective Softing solution not only ensures a rapid time-to-market; the great flexibility of the FPGA also makes users independent of specialized ASICs.
