Bariatric Surgeon David D. Kim, MD Discusses a Recent Article Covering a New Method of Patient Care: the Team-Based Approach

The article also highlights several studies that provide more insight into the effects of this method. One in particular is a 2012 study by the University of Washington and Group Health that found one group of patients, who were suffering from depression combined with heart disease and/or diabetes and were treated with a team-based approach, to have an improved physical and emotional health outcome compared with another group that was not treated with the same approach.
The article says the method empowers team members to provide medical services to the full extent their training and medical licenses allow.
