Emergency Medical Associates Has Been Acquired by EmCare
(firmenpresse) - PARSIPPANY, NJ -- (Marketwired) -- 01/16/15 -- Emergency Medical Associates (EMA) announced that it has been acquired by the EmCare, Inc., subsidiary of Envision Healthcare Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: EVHC) (Envision).

Emergency Medical Associates is a privately held, democratic, physician-owned partnership that has been delivering emergency medicine and unscheduled care management services to larger volume hospitals since 1977. It staffs and manages 32 emergency departments in New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island, serving more than 1.5 million patients annually. Additionally, the company operates a hospitalist medicine division, Inpatient Medical Associates, and an urgent care staffing and management division, eMedical Urgent Care.
EmCare is a physician-led organization focused on the delivery of high-quality care and services. It operates four regional divisions and five specialty divisions. EMA will form the foundation of a new division focused on bringing together independent democratic groups. Dr. Iannaccone will serve as the new division''s chief executive officer in the short term.

The acquisitions are expected to close before the end of February pending completion of certain closing conditions.
