ID: 1329895

(firmenpresse) - CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/13/15 -- January 13th is National AMBER Alert Awareness day in the United States and in Canada. It is a day which commemorates the anniversary of the abduction and murder of Amber Hagerman in Arlington, Texas in 1996 and raises awareness about the AMBER Alert program. Amber''s case was the catalyst for the creation of AMBER Alert, which now recovers abducted children world wide.

The Missing Children Society of Canada''s ''World''s Most Valuable Network'' (), was launched in May 2012, part of MCSC''s Search Program™ and dubbed ''Milk Carton 2.0™''. This first of its kind technology platform allows individual Canadians to donate their social media feeds to save the life of a missing child. Since then the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP) officially endorsed MCSC''s Search Program™ and the program has assisted with the safe recovery of missing children nation-wide.

Canadians can get involved today by visiting and learning how a simple click of a button could save the life of a child.

Missing Children Society of Canada congratulates the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children on their new initiative, utilizing social media to bring awareness to cases of missing and abducted children in the United States.
