The hugely successful Vampire Diaries returns to its sixth season on January 22, 2015 with all-new episodes. The Originals, sister-series of The Vampire Diaries, continues its second season by debuting new episodes on January 19. In the midseason finale of The Vampire Diaries, we saw Damon and his powerful brother, Stefan, return home to Mystic Falls. Despite his journey back, Damon was not able to see his beloved Elena because of psychotic Kai''s cloaking spell and the consequent kidnapping of Elena. On an upbeat, with this season''s return, Elena and Damon have a chance of happiness, even while battling the deleterious shenanigans of Damon''s brothers. The co-creators of the series have a long-planned, perfect ending to the series; a pluperfect ending which will be delayed as CW has renewed Diaries for a seventh season. The Vampire Diaries are based on the New York Times-bestselling books of L. J. Smith.
Viewers can''t get enough of well-told, ancient, vampire myths of middle-age Eastern Europe folklore, and The Vampire Diaries spin-off The Originals is proof. When last we saw Rebekah, she had made Esther a vampire, and remained unforgiven by Kol, who has wrecked revenge by placing Rebekah''s soul in the body of a witch.
