South Beach Hotel Welcomes Guests During Art Basel Show

The four-day spectacle attracted more than 70,000 visitors, including Kate Hudson, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, and Miley Cyrus. Works of international artists were showcased at 67 galleries from 31 countries as well as throughout the Miami Beach neighborhoods. At night, the city turned into a vibrating party hub, entertaining guests with live concerts, release events, dance parties, and Barbie-themed celebrations. Determined to stay close to the art as well as to the hottest nightlife spots, visitors flocked to the beautifully restored to stay in the Art Deco gem located right in the center of all the festivities.

Stepping out of the hotel, guests were greeted by a number of impressive installations as part of the Sculpture Park scattered over the adjacent Collins Park. Sculptures included Lynda Benglis'' "Pink Lady," a cheerful bright fountain, which formed the heart piece of her most current exhibition "Everything Flows," and Sarah Braman''s "Door," a purple and red glass box that figuratively and actually reflects the crystalline architecture of Miami Beach. Starting in the afternoon, the welcomed its guests and external visitors back to the hotel''s beer garden, appropriately decorated with artworks displayed throughout the spacious courtyard, serving refreshments and giving guests a chance to mix and mingle with local artists. Amongst the hotel guests was the PR team of the famed Swiss watchmaker, IWC Schaffhausen, who made the SBH their base during the art show to organize their "Timeless Portofino" exhibition for Art Basel, featuring stars such as Emily Blunt, Karolina Kurkova, and Adriana Lima.

It is exactly this open and relaxed atmosphere combined with artistic flair that has quickly turned the into one of the most popular hotels in all of Miami Beach. A strong supporter of the local art and culture scene of the surrounding Collins Park neighborhood, the SBH is not only an exquisite boutique hotel, but also doubles as an art gallery.
