As commonly envisioned, a Guaranteed Annual Income (GAI) program would provide individuals or families unconditional cash transfers to ensure a minimum annual income and would replace Canada''s complex income support system with a single program administered by one level of government.
The Practical Challenges of Creating a Guaranteed Annual Income in Canada outlines the obstacles to establishing such a program and assesses the likelihood of overcoming these challenges.
