Falling Gas Prices Making Canadians Even More Attentive: CAA survey
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 12/30/14 -- Low gas prices may be plentiful this holiday season, but if anything they have sparked Canadian consumers to pay even more attention to prices, a Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) survey shows.
Among the findings of CAA research released today:
"Canadian consumers paid a lot of attention to the rising price of gas over the past few years, but the falling prices in recent weeks are proving to generate even more," says Jeff Walker, CAA vice president, public affairs. "Canadians are smart to keep an eye on prices, because even with generally low prices, we are regularly finding differences of as much as five cents a litre within markets."
As a consumer service, CAA provides two ways for consumers to track prices. CAA Gas Prices, located at , provides daily, weekly, monthly and yearly average prices for Canada, all provinces and over 110 cities. for mobile devices shows prices at over 11,000 individual gas stations across Canada, updated at least nine times a day. Both services are free and available to anyone.
The CAA poll surveyed 1,027 Canadians between Dec. 5 and Dec. 12. A probability sample of the same size would yield a margin of error of +/-3.1 per cent, 19 times out of 20.
