Operating as a Unit Within AEI's Site Services Division, the New Group Provides Consulting Services Specific to Public and Private Land Sustainability and Stewardship; Jeffery Medcalf Joins AEI Consultants to Lead the Group as Senior Scientist

Headed by Jeff Medcalf, a recognized expert in the field with decades of experience, the new unit will assist property owners and managers who require expert advice for projects that involve upland and wetland restoration and enhancement, watershed and lake management, erosion and sediment delivery control, land-use planning for sensitive or protected areas, biodiversity conservation, and ecology and sustainability assessments.

Jeff Medcalf heads the new group as senior scientist. He joins AEI Consultants from ArrowCreek AgriEcologists. Before that, he was chief scientist and principal consultant at Professional Service Industries Inc. Mr. Medcalf has more than 25 years'' experience in wetland and upland ecology; wetland and upland habitat restoration; and water, sediment and soil chemistry. He reports to Chris Young and will be based out of AEI''s Atlanta office.
Mr. Medcalf is an expert in design and construction management of coastal and freshwater wetland/upland restoration projects, evaluation of wetland/upland restoration success and feasibility; agricultural resources surveys, biosolids mass reduction, nutrient management, watershed natural resource planning, the functional assessments of upland and wetland habitat, remote sensing and GIS assisted landscape analysis, feasibility studies, soil morphology and erosion analysis, mitigation bank design, development of habitat restoration based experiential education programs, landscape/cover type mapping, environmental grants development and administration, development of integrated land management systems, and environmental permitting.
