In our quest to brew deliberately different beers, this one ranks at the top in effort and creativity. Big Rock procured rare oak barrels from as far away as Spain for this offering. Not your typical oak barrels, the ones sourced for these ales were originally used to age the finest Cognac''s, Sherry''s and Bourbons. For this adventure, we would be inviting their magic into our delightfully original and unorthodox ales.
Every sensation found in a glass of these unique beers has its origins in the decisions of our Brewmaster, Paul Gautreau. "I''ve never worked with oak barrels of any type before, so this was a new adventure for us" said Gautreau, who is thrilled with the results. These are big flavourful beers that offer sophisticated tones of bourbon, wine and oak.
Bourbon - A rich, full-bodied beer featuring layers of bourbon and caramel, with an oakiness to the brew and a nice alcohol warmth (ABV 11.00%)
Sherry - The warmth of the Sherry barrels present in the flavour. This beer is malty with a subtle dryness from the Sherry.
Cognac - Cognac is King! It''s all about the oakiness of the barrels and the complex flavours from the cognac.
