Harper Government Announces Request for Proposals for Search and Rescue Vessels for the Coast Guard
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 11/26/14 -- The Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, and the Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Public Works and Government Services Canada, today announced the issuing of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the procurement of search and rescue lifeboats as part of the National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy.
A on the procurement of these small vessels was issued on February 10, 2014.
As , the rescue lifeboats are part of the small vessels program totaling up to $488M which will see the procurement of 18 to 21 new vessels for the Coast Guard fleet to replace existing vessels stationed across Canada.
This competitive opportunity will be open to all Canadian shipyards with the exception of the two selected under the National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy to build the large vessels.
