Technic Inc. Receives a $900,000 U.S. Department of Energy SunShot Initiative Award to Reduce Costs of Solar Cell Manufacturing
(firmenpresse) - CRANSTON, RI -- (Marketwired) -- 11/19/14 -- announced today that it has received a $900,000 award through the . The award has been provided in support of the company''s research and development of Alternative Seed Layer Technology (ASL). Technic''s ASL Technology will provide manufacturers with lower front side solar cell metallization material costs while maintaining and improving cell efficiencies. The ASL process is designed to metallize a solar cell through the use of light induced plating of nickel, copper and tin. The award is provided to match Technic''s ongoing research and development in solar technologies, which will bring the shared investment to 1.8 million dollars.
