Dr. Jon Kurkjian Reveals How He Helps Patients Choose the Most Effective Implant Type, Size, and Shape for Their Breast Augmentation Goals

In regard to , Dr. Kurkjian says he employs a combination of three-dimensional imaging and biometric analysis to help patients achieve their cosmetic goals while also minimizing potential complications. With the system, he notes patients are able to view a computer-simulated image of results they can realistically achieve with different implant shapes and sizes. Biometric analysis -- which includes measurements of the patient''s breast shape and volume, chest wall, and degree of skin elasticity in the breasts -- is then used to ensure the implants of choice can be safely and effectively accommodated for optimal results, he adds.
Ultimately, Dr. Kurkjian says he strives to do everything he can to ensure patients select the type, shape, and size of implants that successfully achieve their breast augmentation goals. "Education is a key component of the breast implant selection process, and when patients have a full understanding of every available option, I have found that postoperative satisfaction dramatically increases."
After graduating from the University of Oklahoma, earned his medical degree from the University of Texas - Southwestern Medical School. He then went on to complete his Plastic Surgery Residency at the University of Texas - Southwestern in Dallas and his Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship at Manhattan Eye, Ear, & Throat Hospital in New York City. In addition to running his own private practice, Dr. Kurkjian currently serves as a Clinical Instructor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas - Southwestern. .
