Swinerton Tops Out at the Gardens Casino in Hawaiian Gardens
(firmenpresse) - IRVINE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 11/05/14 -- In March 2014, and broke ground on The Gardens Casino in Hawaiian Gardens, California. The project, set to finish in early 2016, replaces the existing temporary structure with a new two-story, 205,000-square-foot building. This Friday, November 7, the team will hold a topping celebration to commemorate the final beam being placed. Swinerton''s internal concrete group is self-performing the entire concrete scope on the project.
Composed of structural steel with a plaster and stone exterior, the new casino has a Las Vegas-type desert feel to it. A large volcano water feature and palm trees greet visitors out front, with a smaller water feature located in the high-ceilinged foyer. A grand porte cochere sits at the entrance, while surface parking is added on to the old casino site to increase capacity. To ensure no downtime to casino operations, the new casino is being built adjacent to the existing one, which Swinerton will demolish as soon as the new one opens.
The Gardens Casino will be the largest card club in California when completed, in terms of square footage and tables. The 155,000-square-foot main level includes card tables, while the 50,000-square-foot partial second floor is dedicated to poker tournaments. A full kitchen and bar lie on the main floor, with a small café located on the opposite end. An escalator and two sets of elevators take guests to the second floor, which has its own dedicated bar. The entire casino will receive high-end finishes, tile, lighting, and ceilings, while the exterior is fully outfitted to increase curb appeal. Traffic improvements and street work are being completed as well, with new site utilities tying into existing storm, sewer, and water lines.
