Game Day Chef Challenge Finalists Set for Washington Region
Live Cook-Off to Be Held Prior to Seahawks-Giants Game Nov. 9
(firmenpresse) - SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwired) -- 11/05/14 -- The next phase of the has begun, with the selection of finalists from each of five regions, including Washington. The contest, sponsored by Chevron, is a fun and innovative cooking competition in which football fans and foodies vie for a $25,000 Grand Prize and bragging rights to the best game-day recipe.
The unique hook is that each contestant''s go-to recipe must include at least one food or beverage item purchased from a Chevron or Texaco station.
Five finalists from among the top 15 vote recipients in each region were selected by a panel of judges to compete in the regional cook-offs of the Game Day Chef Challenge. One winner from each region will advance to the Grand Finale hosted at the Rose Bowl Stadium on January 1, 2015, where the grand prize winner will receive $25,000 in Chevron with Techron Promotional Cards and be crowned the "2014 Game Day Chef Champion."
In the Washington Region, the following finalists will compete in a live cook-off event to be held at CenturyLink Field in Seattle prior to kick-off of the Seattle Seahawks vs. New York Giants football game on November 9 (listed alphabetically):
Gus Campanario, serving up Cheesy Chip Sliders with Cola Spiked BBQ Sauce
Andrew Fonda, preparing his Best Corners in the Game Seafood Sliders
Aaron Hopkins, with Game Day Duck
Jessica Neill Hoyson, and her Cola Korean BBQ Wings with Umami Dipping Sauce
Anthony James, with his submission Big Score Sunday Sandwich
Fans attending the Seahawks game on November 9 are encouraged to stop by the Game Day Chef Challenge set-up north of the stadium on Occidental Ave. to take in the action. In conjunction with Northwest Harvest, Chevron will be conducting a food drive in which the first 100 fans that bring a non-perishable food item will receive a $5.00 Chevron promotional card.
