(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 11/05/14 -- The Honourable Steven Blaney, Canada''s Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, is in Paris, France, where he will represent Canada at the November 6th G-6 Paris meeting, hosted by Bernard Cazeneuve, France''s Minister of the Interior.
"As recent events have demonstrated, terrorism is a global threat from which Canada is not immune. The threat posed to global security by radicalized individuals travelling for terrorist purposes to carry out violent acts is of great concern and requires a collective response.
Canada and its allies, including the G-6 (Spain, Italy, France, UK, Germany, Poland), the European Commission, the United States and Turkey will not be deterred by the depraved actions of terrorist organizations such as ISIL. We will take all appropriate action to counter the threats of terrorist travel and internet radicalization, and work towards a more secure global environment."
On November 6th, Minister Blaney will discuss the issues of terrorist travel and radicalization. He will also meet with his French counterpart Bernard Cazeneuve, France''s Minister of the interior and US Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas.
