PFB Corporation Announces Its Third Quarter Results for 2014 and Declares Regular Quarterly Dividend
(firmenpresse) - CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/30/14 -- PFB Corporation (TSX: PFB) ("PFB" or the "Corporation") reports its financial results for the three and nine month periods ended September 30, 2014.
Consolidated net income for the three month period ended September 30, 2014, was $1,549,000, basic earnings per share of $0.23, as compared to net income of $933,000, basic earnings per share of $0.14, reported in the comparative three month period of 2013. Sales in the three month period ended September 30, 2014, were $27,414,000 as compared to sales of $25,504,000 in the comparative three month period of 2013. Gross margins during the period improved to 22.1% of sales compared with 20.4% in the comparative period.
Despite improved earnings for the current quarter, a consolidated loss of $199,000 resulted for the nine month period ended September 30, 2014, loss per share of $0.03, as compared to net income of $6,372,000, basic earnings per share of $0.95 reported in the comparative nine month period of 2013. The consolidated results for the comparative nine month period of 2013 are inclusive of an after-tax gain in the amount of $6,198,000 which was realized on the sale of four properties as part of a sale and leaseback transaction. Excluding the after tax effect of the one-time gain, the Corporation would have reported net income of $174,000 in the prior year nine month period, equivalent to a earnings per share of $0.03. Sales in the nine month period ended September 30, 2014, were $64,892,000 as compared to sales of $63,409,000 in the comparative nine month period of 2013.
Dividend Payment
The Board of Directors has approved the payment of a regular quarterly dividend of $0.06 per common share. The dividend will be paid on November 28, 2014 to shareholders of record on November 14, 2014.
