Game Day Chef Challenge Finalists Set for Oregon Region
Live Cook-Off to Be Held Prior to Oregon-Stanford Game Nov. 1
(firmenpresse) - PORTLAND, OR -- (Marketwired) -- 10/30/14 -- The next phase of the has begun, with the selection of finalists from each of five regions, including Oregon. The contest, sponsored by Chevron, is a fun and innovative cooking competition in which football fans and foodies vie for a $25,000 Grand Prize and bragging rights to the best game-day recipe.
The unique hook is that each contestant''s go-to recipe must include at least one food or beverage item purchased from a Chevron or Texaco station.
Five finalists from among the top 15 vote recipients in each region were selected by a panel of judges to compete in the regional cook-offs of the Game Day Chef Challenge. One winner from each region will advance to the Grand Finale hosted at the Rose Bowl Stadium on January 1, 2015, where the grand prize winner will receive $25,000 in Chevron with Techron Promotional Cards and be crowned the "2014 Game Day Chef Champion."
In the Oregon Region, the following finalists will compete in a live cook-off event to be held at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, OR prior to kick-off of the #5 Oregon Ducks vs. Stanford Cardinal football game on November 1 (listed alphabetically):
Frances Benthin, with Prodigious Shrimp with Peanut Dipping Sauce
Mark Della Paolera, preparing his Spicy Duck Kebabs with Tangy Orange Sauce
Bryson Fairlamb, and his Bry''s Blur Banh Mi
Renata Stanko, serving up Spicy Nacho Turkey Fingers with Mango Salsa
Erin Marie Williams, with her submission Pigskin Poblano Poppers
In addition, Chevron and the Game Day Chef Challenge are rolling out the red carpet for the three celebrity judges (listed alphabetically):
Gianni Barofsky - Chef and Owner of Beppe and Gianni''s Trattoria and La Perla Pizzeria in Eugene
Greg Denton - Chef and Owner of Ox Restaurant in Portland
Carson York - former Oregon Duck football player
