Muse is a brain sensing headband and a brain fitness tool that helps do more with your mind by helping you calm and settle your mind. Muse is a comfortable, lightweight headband with 7 sensors designed to detect and measure your brain activity, just as a heart monitor measures your pulse.
Muse is the only brain sensing headband designed with you in mind and for everyday use. The Muse headband is well-designed to be comfortable and is made with flexible materials to adjust to different head shapes and sizes. It includes 7 sensors: 5 on the forehead and 2 ear sensors, for comfort and clear, consistent signal quality. The headset measures the brain’s electrical activity and submits the data via Bluetooth for analysis to any PC, laptop or Smarphone.
Muse detects a full range of brainwave activity. Brainwaves are typically broken up into five bands and Muse detects all five bands. The five bands are:
• Delta waves which are most present during sleep.
• Theta waves which are associated with sleep, very deep relaxation, and visualization.
• Alpha waves which occur when relaxed and calm.
• Beta waves which occur when, for example, actively thinking or problem-solving.
• Gamma waves which occur when involved in higher mental activity and consolidation of information.
Our first app, Calm, provides sessions based on scientifically proven techniques and practices shown to reduce anxiety and stress, to focus the mind, and to foster positive rather than negative responses.
Everyone knows a healthy body needs time to rest, repair and renew through healthy diet and proper sleep. A healthy body also needs some level of activity and exercise; the mind needs a balance of both. This is why we’ve designed Muse.
