Wedgewood Commits to Supporting Breast Cancer Research Year-Round
Fundraising Program to Go Into Effect on November 1
(firmenpresse) - TEMECULA, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/28/14 -- With National Breast Cancer Awareness Month coming to an end, Wedgewood Wedding & Banquet Center, the largest full-service wedding and banquet chain in the nation, announces a new program to help support breast cancer research year-round.
Wedgewood''s breast cancer research fundraising program is to kick off on Saturday, November 1, 2014, with a contribution of $10k to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF), a nonprofit organization committed to achieving prevention and a cure for breast cancer. Wedgewood hosts more than 3,000 weddings per year and this program is set to run through 2015 with a $1 donation to BCRF for every bottle of champagne poured -- up to $15k annually.
Wedgewood is taking this program one step further and sponsoring every Wedgewood employee who chooses to participate in the annual breast cancer awareness walks. Wedgewood will also match employee contributions to breast cancer charities up to $100.
"It''s a disease that impacts millions across the United States and this is a cause that is extremely important to our couples and employees," said Wedgewood president, Bill Zaruka. "We are proud to make this commitment to breast cancer research and to be a force in finding a cure."
Wedgewood''s breast cancer research fundraising program is only part of the company''s larger philanthropic efforts.
