(firmenpresse) - LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwired) -- 10/28/14 -- Over 100 million people in the world who would benefit from a wheelchair, do not have access to one. These are people whose disability cannot be accommodated by canes, crutches or walkers. The American Wheelchair Mission is a non-profit organization that seeks to provide quality wheelchairs to individuals in need. Whether a child, a teen, or an adult, the American Wheelchair Mission is dedicated to helping these people increase their mobility and professional games player, , actively supports the organization''s noble efforts.

In developing countries, 3% of the population is physically disabled and unable to live a fulfilled life without a wheelchair or other mobility aid. Unfortunately, many of these people do not have the means to afford one. The situation is even worse in the roughly 60 countries that experience civil unrest, or have leftover mines or unexploded ordnance. In those countries, the percentage of physically disabled can be as high as 20% of the general population. Other factors include disease, accidents, war, lack of, or poor healthcare and aging. Providing wheelchairs to those people will enable them to go to school, go shopping, and go to work. Wheelchairs allow people the ability to enjoy life again. But it does not stop there. It has been estimated that up to 10 other people are affected when a recipient receives their wheelchair. The entire family can attend church or social gatherings, and the person getting the wheelchair can feel a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Getting a wheelchair to a person in need is a complicated process. Generally, a new wheelchair purchased in a medical supply store can run upwards of $500. However, American Wheelchair Mission can purchase them in bulk for about $150 per chair. Still, that can add up fast. This is where kind-hearted people like Stanley Tomchin come in. Tomchin recently donated $10,000 to the American Wheelchair Mission, which equals 66 wheelchairs that can be made available to a person in need anywhere in the world.
