The Right Honourable Donald Mazankowski Invested into the Order of Canada
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 10/26/14 -- On behalf of His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, His Honour, Colonel (Retired) the Honourable Donald S. Ethell, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, presented the insignia of Companion of the Order of Canada to the Right Honourable Donald Mazankowski. The private ceremony took place at Government House, in Edmonton, Alberta, on Saturday, October 25, 2014. Mr. Mazankowski was appointed on November 21, 2013.

Don Mazankowski''s devotion and leadership have enriched our nation. Throughout his life as a businessman, parliamentarian and community leader, he has earned the admiration of citizens of diverse political affiliations for his integrity, courtesy and fair-mindedness. Since retiring from politics, he has continued to build on a legacy of service as chair of the Canadian Genetic Diseases Network, the Institute of Health Economics, and the Premier''s Advisory Council on Health Care. Alberta''s leading heart institute, which bears his name, as well as the Mazankowski Scholarship Foundation, which has awarded more than $1.5 million to students across the country, serve as testimony of his ongoing commitment.
