With 1.4 Million Viewers on Saturday: TVA Sports Is a Millionaire Once Again!
(firmenpresse) - MONTREAL, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired) -- 10/20/14 -- Last Saturday, TVA Sports once again crossed the one million mark in television ratings, reaching a new high of 1.4 million viewers during the broadcast of the Montreal Canadiens and Colorado Avalanche game - another win for the Habs. The average audience size for the game was 965,000 viewers.
Enthusiasm for hockey on TVA Sports has not diminished, as fans flooded the Videotron and Cogeco call centres on Saturday to subscribe to the channel. In order to do not deprive hockey fans, the decision was made to extend the descrambling to include the Canadiens'' match on Saturday night.
"The arrival of the NHL and the start of Canadiens'' season has had an extraordinary impact on the channel," says Serge Fortin, TVA Sports Vice-President. "Fans are expressing their appreciation for our new hockey offer by subscribing to TVA Sports in huge numbers. We are witnessing the birth of a new hockey tradition in Quebec."
Now that the descrambling is over, TVA Sports management encourages hockey fans to not wait until Saturday to subscribe to the channel so they can avoid waiting and overwhelming in call centres.
