NAV CANADA Reports September Traffic Figures
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 10/16/14 -- NAV CANADA announced today its traffic figures for the month of September 2014 as measured in weighted charging units for enroute, terminal and oceanic air navigation services, in comparison to the prior fiscal year.
Air traffic in September 2014 increased by an average of 5.7 per cent compared to the same month in 2013. September represents the first month of NAV CANADA''s fiscal year which runs from September 1 to August 31.Weighted charging units represent a traffic measure that reflects the number of flights, aircraft size and distance flown in Canadian airspace.
In fiscal 2015, NAV CANADA is reporting air traffic based on Weighted Charging Units (WCUs), updated to reflect its current charging structure and to include air traffic associated with the Daily Charge. The revised WCU methodology is therefore more reflective of the air traffic volumes managed by NAV CANADA. Historical WCUs have been restated to reflect the revised methodology for comparison purposes.
