America Has a Say in Favorite Aha Moment by Voting for Real People With Real Stories

Brenda gained a new perspective on life when her and her family lost everything in a flood. Focusing on family is the most important thing, while everything else is just extra.

Voters from across the country, in combination with a Mutual of Omaha panel, have selected the favorite aha moment through an online public vote at . Over the past two weeks, finalists gained votes for their moment by relying heavily on social media and community support, driven by local media coverage.

"America resonated with these incredible stories and voted for people who showcased inspiration through life''s changes. We couldn''t be more thrilled to recognize Brenda from Grand Forks, North Dakota in our 2015 TV spots," said John Hildenbiddle, senior vice president of brand management and public relations at Mutual of Omaha.

The road to commercial stardom began when the 2014 Aha Moment Tour kicked off on May 12 in Redding, Calif. and journeyed to 20 cities across the country, wrapping in Bend, Ore. on Aug. 15. At every stop, people lined up to share their personal aha moments in an Airstream trailer custom designed as a mobile television studio. Nearly 1,000 aha moments were recorded along the tour. Mutual of Omaha launched its sponsorship of life''s aha moments in February 2009 and has captured almost 5,000 moments from people in cities all across the United States.
