Government of Canada supports arts and culture in Edmundston

(firmenpresse) - EDMUNDSTON, NEW BRUNSWICK -- (Marketwired) -- 10/10/14 -- Department of Canadian Heritage

The Edmundston region will enjoy highly diverse musical and artistic programming presented by the Centre des arts de la petite eglise d''Edmundston from January to December 2015.

The Government of Canada will be providing $15,000 to the Centre des arts de la petite eglise d''Edmundston to support the programming. The Honourable Bernard Valcourt, Minister of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development and Member of Parliament (Madawaska-Restigouche), made this announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

The Centre des arts la Petite eglise d''Edmundston (CAPEE) is the most important cultural presenter in the region. During its second year of operation, it will offer more than 25 performances featuring popular and classical music, comedy and dance. Shows with an intimate atmosphere will be presented in CAPE hall, which has 100 seats. Leo-Poulin hall, which has 800 seats and is located in the Cite des Jeunes A.-M.-Sormany, will present shows of a more popular or mainstream nature.
