Sheffield Garden Walk Grows to More Than 80 Chicago Gardens in 46th Year
Planned Property Management Encourages Lincoln Park-Area Residents to Explore Historic Neighborhood, Event
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 10/08/14 -- The Sheffield Garden Walk celebrated its 46th anniversary this July with tours of more than 80 residential gardens in one of Chicago''s most historic neighborhoods.
Beginning at noon on Saturday, July 19, and Sunday, July 20, guests could enjoy self-guided walking tours of otherwise private gardens, as well as guided architectural tours of the Sheffield neighborhood, much of which is a designated National Historic District. The entry point for the event is at 2200 N. Sheffield at Webster. A suggested donation of $7-10 benefits the Sheffield Neighborhood Association.
"Whether you''re a home gardener with a green thumb or you''d just like a glimpse of some of the city''s most beautiful gardens, the Sheffield Garden Walk is a great way to spend a summer afternoon," said Jasko Omervic of Planned Property Management, which owns and manages numerous residential rental properties in the area, including . Garden tours are available from noon to 5:30 p.m. on July 19 and 20, with guided architectural tours at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. each day. Guide books will be available at the event, which also includes the Ask a Master Gardener Booth hosted by the University of Illinois Extension as well as live music, food and beverages, and a kids'' corner.
