The Royal Society of Canada Issues a Position Paper on the Importance of Research in Canada
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 10/07/14 -- The Royal Society of Canada has published the first in a series of position papers intended to serve as constructive additions to policy conversations about research and scholarship in Canada. The paper is entitled Driving Growth through Research: The importance of research for Canada''s future in the world knowledge economy. "The Driving Growth paper is the first in a series," noted RSC President Graham Bell, "and is meant to support elected officials in their deliberations on vital issues for the future of Canada."
The Position Paper is available , and includes sections on the necessity of research culture, support for emerging researchers, and how the National Academy can help.
Founded in 1882, the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) comprises the Academies of Arts, Humanities and Sciences of Canada. Its mission is to recognize scholarly, research and artistic excellence, to advise governments and organizations, and to promote a culture of knowledge and innovation in Canada and with other national academies around the world.
